You Asked for It!

Church,

During business meeting on Sunday, it was reported that we will be baptizing 12 youth and children who received Christ at camp on June 28th! Several of these have been present during morning worship, and a handful have even “walked the aisle” to officially join our church! It was also reported that overall Bible study attendance is up, due in large part, to children/youth like this AND their families who are starting to attend.

Our church has agreed upon four values to prioritize as we go about our mission to serve, evangelize, and disciple individuals. They are: the Bible, fellowship, outreach, and family (young families were particularly emphasized as being important).

Do you know what I see happening in our church? I see God answering our prayers, and honoring our desire to minister according to our mission and values! But here’s the challenge: as God answers our prayers, continued ministry and faithfulness are required of us! It is almost as if God has said to us: “You asked for it. Here it is. Now, what are you going to do with it?!”

Recently, you have been hearing about serving on committees, teams, and financially supporting our overall ministry budget. In the coming weeks, you’ll hear about opportunities to serve on meal teams, in family ministry, and to support future students going to camp. Everything we do is connected. None of our ministries exist for themselves, but in support of our mission and values.

“You asked for it. Here it is. Now, what are you going to do with it?!”

Blessings,

Pastor Matt
