Summer Ministry Update

Church,
I’m tired this week, but it’s “a good tired!” After spending a week doing VBS, I went to pre-teen camp as a sponsor. As I recuperated this weekend, I read posts and texts of all God is doing in the lives of our teenagers at youth camp. This kind of summer ministry is near, and dear to me, as God used it not only to lead me to salvation, but also into ministry.
I’ve been especially encouraged by how many of you, regardless of any direct role you may have had, prayed, encouraged, gave, and supported these efforts. We had 40-plus volunteers at VBS. 16 of you drove to pre-teen camp to encourage our kids and sponsors, and 10 of you did the same for our youth. Don’t underestimate just how important this is in showing God’s love to kids and families, and letting them know that they are family to us.
Continue to pray for our mission team headed to Honduras in July. We were overjoyed to find out that several children in the village where we serve have accepted Christ through the efforts of another partner church from the States. We will have the privilege of following-up on this work.
I pray that you and your family find some time to spend together, this summer. Our family prioritizes vacation, and visiting extended family during this time of year. It is important for our regular rhythm to have these special moments. At the same time, don’t get out of the habit of meeting with your church family when you are in town.
See you soon!
Pastor Matt
