Church,
I continue to be inspired and encouraged about how God is promoting a Spirit of service, and transforming lives through evangelism and discipleship in our church. It was a joy seeing many of you come together for our family worship night, as two were baptized. Many of the kids and teens present during this time aren’t exposed to any other kind of corporate worship, and I know your presence made a difference for them.
The following Sunday, we ordained seven men into deacon ministry. The testimonies each of these shared spoke to their genuine faith, their hearts to serve for God’s glory, and the humility in which they recognize God’s calling and initiative in their acceptance of this role. I’m excited for how they will “set the tone” of our hearts and attitudes for our ministry in the next year.
I’m thankful to our finance committee, who has been very intentional and prayerful in planning for next year’s budget. Their collective heart for being good stewards, while adequately planning for the God-given ministry our church is engaged in is an encouragement to me! I’m also grateful for how God has used your faithful giving to provide for our ministry needs.
As always, we have lots going on throughout the rest of this month – from special performances with children, Christmas caroling to shut-ins, and our annual candlelight service. I encourage you to make the most of these opportunities to celebrate the season, and to invite someone who needs to hear about our “reason for the season.”
Merry Christmas!
Pastor Matt
