Our church is full of people who serve. As the fall ministry season kicks off, I’m excited to see so many who have filled our Wednesday meal teams, ministry teams, and committees. Even as we have transitions in staff, both new and seasoned volunteers have “stepped up” to do integral things during this time. As we continue to emphasize “unity” on Sunday mornings, I am seeing you live that message out in the context of ministry!
As you are faithful in this way, I want to assure you that I and your personnel committee are seeking this same faithfulness as we move through current transitions. While we understand the importance of making progress in filling staff needs, we are not doing so hastily. We are considering the unique needs of our church, as well as the make-up and gifts of our current staff and volunteers. Prayer and intentionality will be key for us in the days ahead.
Of course, I’d be remiss not to mention how much I appreciate Pastor Craig and his family. Craig not only served as our youth minister for 6 years, he performed many pastoral functions while FBC was searching for a pastor. Seeing so many of you at his retirement party is a testament to his ministry, as well as the love and support provided during his tenure. We wish him, Tammy, and Stephen God’s best in their upcoming adventures!
Blessings,
Pastor Matt
