Happy New Year!
Ready or not, 2022 is upon us. This past month celebrating Christmas with you has been a real joy. As we kick off the New Year together, I pray you’ll not only make church attendance, but also Sunday morning Bible study a priority. Michelle and I attend “Odds N Ends” with Kenny and Terrie Smarr. This is not only a special time to grow in God’s Word together, but also to share in rich, special fellowship that I look forward to weekly. From sharing burdens, to laughing at/with one another, this group is irreplaceable. I pray you’ll find a Sunday morning Bible study group to be a part of, if you have not. Class information can be found in our foyer and on our website.
I am convinced, now more than ever, that there is much potential for ministry in our community in 2022. One new ministry we will be starting on January 17th is a “Koinonia Karate” (koinonia means fellowship) program. Currently, trial classes are full, and we have a waiting list of several folks wanting to be a part of the ministry. If you or someone you know is interested, please let me know. And pray that this will be a unique way our church can make connections with, and share Jesus with people. I’m especially grateful to the missions committee, who was willing to invest in the needed equipment to make this possible.
In addition to the program mentioned above, our Llano Police Department will be hosting two self-defense classes for women this month (Jan. 11 and 18) from 6-8 pm. Mark your calendars if you are interested, and feel free to invite others in the community. I’m thankful our PD trusts us enough to host this opportunity, and I pray it strengthens our relationships with them and others we might come in contact with through the event.
If I can do anything for you as we start this new year together, don’t hesitate to let me know!
