Christmas at FBC

As always, December is a full month! We have special things going on just about every Sunday, as well as our mid-week, community Christmas stroll, and our Christmas Eve candlelight service. This year, both Christmas AND New Year’s fall on Sundays, so please note that we will cancel Sunday Morning Bible Study on those days. Worship will be at our normal time, 11 am.

Also, this month, we will vote on approving the budget for 2023. I’m grateful for a budget and finance committee who worked diligently and prayerfully on producing a budget that they feel meets ministry needs, as well as stewards our gifts faithfully. I am also appreciative for how God has blessed our church with faithful givers who have helped us expand the ministry that we do in the three years I have been your pastor. While ministry isn’t about money, some of it does not happen apart from money. You all have been faithful in realizing this, and exceeding our needs!

Speaking of monetary gifts, December is the month that we emphasize our Lottie Moon Christmas offering for international missions. Remember, 100% of this offering goes toward funding salaries for international missionaries. Can you think of a better cause, at Christmas, than helping people all over the world have access to the Gospel?

Lastly, I encourage you to make an effort to invite someone to any, or all of the special things we have going on this month. 1,000 post cards will be mailed out to surrounding homes near our church, making them aware of our Christmas sermon series, when children will be singing in our service, and the dates/times of special Christmas services. You can also watch your email and our Facebook page for a digital version of this postcard, which you can share with others. I look forward to celebrating the reason for the season with you!

Blessings,

Pastor Matt
