Christmas always feels different than other seasons; but this year, Christmas will feel different from last year due to our increased ability to celebrate. You may have memories of canceled events, caroling with masks on, and even observing Christmas candlelight outdoors last year. Like we always do, Christ’s Church did its best in difficult circumstances.
This year, we find ourselves in a much more positive situation. From our communal Christmas stroll, to our annual candlelight service (indoors!), we are cueing up for a wonderful celebration. Please check your newsletter for all times, dates, etc.
As we close out our year, let me encourage you to be present at our December business meeting. In it, we will present our 2022 budget, which has been prepared and prayed over by a wonderful and diligent committee. One thing you will notice about the proposed budget is its increased allowance for ministry funds in a few categories (discipleship/evangelism, and men’s ministry to name a couple). That the committee feels comfortable prioritizing this tells me two things: 1) they understand what is important to our church’s mission; 2) they believe God will bless us adequately to accomplish our goals.
I do not take the fact that God has provided for us in the midst of, and throughout COVID lightly. I recognize that this was made possible through your obedience, and am thankful to serve a congregation that gives toward Kingdom purposes. I trust this will continue to be the case as we serve him together in 2022!
