A New Season of Ministry
A common verse in Ecclesiastes tells us that “for everything there is a season” (3:1). I sense that our church is entering a season of refreshment and renewal. I’ve loved seeing so many familiar faces that I have missed over the last year in worship, lately. I want you to know that if you have not made it back yet, our gatherings have been precious and spirit-filled!
This month brings an end to our “Serve Someone 2021” emphasis, as it is capped off with our current sermon series and service fair. Please know, however, that the opportunities to serve are NOT going away. It is my prayer that this effort has, and will produce lasting change in our hearts as we seek to make service a way of life for us. Spring and summer will bring more opportunities to serve as we get ready for VBS, a back-yard Bible club, and recruit for the next year’s ministry teams and committees.
Please pray for me and our leadership as we navigate a way forward for our church post-quarantine. Whether we like it or not, things are always in a state of change, and it seems that COVID has hastened that change in some areas of lives. This is also true for our church and its ministries. Our ministry at FBC CANNOT look like it did pre-COVID. The key for us is to be purposeful and wise in our decisions, so that our changes and adjustments fit with God’s desire to see the Gospel shared and embodied as we continue to become the people he wants us to be.
I’m excited to serve alongside you in this new season of ministry!
